Claims Adjuster

 Job Summary

Claims adjuster for a fast-growing specialty workers’ compensation program manager in the Southeast US with career progression opportunities. Responsible for adjusting workers’ comp claims including but not limited to administration and resolution of all claims assigned, and performing tasks in accordance with company policies, insurance coverage, laws, rules, regulations and best practices.

 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Manages medical only and/or lost time claims including litigated claims.
  • Investigates claims for compensability.
  • Directs medical care.
  • Reviews bills to confirm they are related to specific claim.
  • Monitors medical bills for timely payment.
  • Pays indemnity benefits as required and in a timely manner.
  • Recommends legal counsel.
  • Recommends, sets, and monitors reserves of all claims assigned.
  • Maintains claims records, notes, and recorded statements from initial assignment to conclusion of claims assigned.
  • Negotiates settlements within authorities.
  • Provides claims management to conclude all claims in a timely manner.
  • Performs other essential functions as assigned.

 

 Required Skills/Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of insurance and claims management.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

 

Education and Experience

  • Adjuster certification in Alabama and/or state specific license required. Claims handling for Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina and Tennessee.
  • Related experience required.

Production Underwriter

 Job Summary

Underwriter for a fast-growing specialty workers’ compensation program manager in the Southeast US. Responsible for written premium production and profitability goals through underwriting, service, relationship development, and sales. Requires a sales-driven attitude, critical thinking skills, knowledge of insurance, management skills, and best practices protocols. Incentives included as part of production and profitability goals. Career progression opportunities available. Remote work location acceptable.

 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Analyzes new and renewal business for acceptable exposure, loss experience, timely payments (renewals), etc. in accordance with internal and carrier underwriting guidelines.
  • Reviews and provides analysis of losses.
  • Negotiates pricing with retail agents.
  • Works closely with Management Team to reach existing goals and establish new benchmarks.
  • Interacts with claims adjusters and staff.
  • Assigns work to and mentors subordinates.
  • Actively solves problems among insureds, agents, and other industry partners.
  • Successfully communicates company products and carriers/markets to customers.
  • Develops strong working relationships with retail agents, brokers, and carrier reps/underwriters.
  • Travels to meet with select retail agents/brokers and participates in industry related meetings, functions and conventions as needed.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to support the company’s overall efforts to furnish excellent customer service.

  • Intermediate to expert knowledge of insurance.
  • Capability to make decisions regarding carrier placement/appetite.

Education and Experience
